Leigh Gallagher is Senior Editor at Large at Fortune, where she writes and edits feature stories, helps steer the brand's editorial coverage and serves as a co-chair of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit and Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference. She is also a seasoned business news commentator, appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, CBS This Morning and Face the Nation, CNBC’s Squawk Box, public radio’s Marketplace and other outlets; from 2014-2016, she was the host of Fortune Live, Fortune’s weekly half-hour video talk show featuring interviews with business leaders and newsmakers. Leigh is the author of two books: The Airbnb Story: How Three Ordinary Guys Disrupted an Industry, Made Billions...and Created Plenty of Controversy, the first book solely dedicated to the creation and growth of the disruptive Silicon Valley startup Airbnb, and The End of the Suburbs: Where the American Dream is Moving, described as a “first-rate social history” and a “steel fist in a velvet glove.” She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Before joining Fortune in 2007, Leigh was a senior editor at SmartMoney and a writer for Forbes. She is a graduate of Cornell University and lives in New York.
